about

At the age of 17 Slackjaw took out Perth’s premier battle competition, Open Mic Combat. His
hunger for the microphone was hard to miss, appearing at the famed Hyde Park Mondays with an
onslaught of endless freestyles and live performances.

Fast forward to 2006, to the release of “Eat A Rat”, the first part in Slackjaw’s mixtape series.
The mixtapes featured jacked beats based on paying tribute to the artform he grew up on, and
from there Slackjaw started to develop a strong following.

Slackjaw’s music boasts a unique mix
of honest lyrics, classy production and heavy doses of wit
and personality. Slackjaw proved his ability as a seasoned songwriter by taking out the award for
WAMI Love Song Of The Year in 2010, WA’s premier songwriting competition.

After the release of his 2011 debut album “Fremantles Finest” Slackjaw’s career went from
strength to strength with the record gaining Feature Album on RTRFM and saw Slackjaw
supporting local and international touring artists such as Del The Funky Homosapien, Big Boi
(Outkast), Chali 2na, Bias B, The Tongue, Urthboy & The Funkoars.

Slackjaw has continued to release quality material to his fans at a consistent rate
including 2012’s “Fremantles Finest: Remix EP” & “Eat A Rat 4: Still Hungry”. With his

reputation as an artist and quality live performer growing steadily, Slackjaw continues to impress
listeners and audiences nationally with his unique brand of Hip Hop music.
